Boeing Thermo-Vacuum Chamber
Project Overview
This facility was designed as a poured-in-place concrete structure to house a $12 million thermo-vacuum testing chamber intended for satellite manufacturing. The building measured 110' x 112' x 80' high with no interior floor diaphragms—the world's largest mailbox space test chamber. Key features included installation of a 20-ton bridge crane on roof trusses with concurrent chamber installation during building completion. Delivered via negotiated construction management contract and built concurrently with the Steel High-Bay Annex project.
